About Rivera Glassworks
Rivera Glassworks was founded with a love for the art of stained- glass making. With experience and a deep understanding of the craft, Jenny Rivera takes pride in creating unique and beautiful pieces for her clients.
In her free time, Jenny is an artist, specializing in graphite drawing initially. She has utilized her talent to make portrait quilts, and then ultimately stained-glass. She is always learning new techniques, and this has led to forming many friendships with glass artisans across the globe.
Her passion is painting glass using vitreous glass paint that is kiln fired onto glass to make it permanent. This is the same techniques and paint used to make cathedral windows in churches and has been practiced for hundreds of years. Painting on glass is an endangered art form, and one Jenny is proud to practice.
Jenny and her husband have been happily married and living in Independence, Missouri since 2010. They take an active role in their community, and forming personal relationships is extremely important to them. They have five children, and two grandchildren.
Instilled in their lives is a call to service. Jenny works full time as a paramedic and has been working in emergency medical services since 2007. Jenny's husband, Jason, actively works as a firefighter, and her brother is a retired Kansas City police officer.
Jenny, along with her dear friend and fellow artist, Julie Wright, collaborated to make a panel of President Truman in 2022, when they were both learning stained-glass. This panel was purchased by the National Fire Sprinkler Association, and then gifted to the Little White House. They have the honor of having their President Truman stained-glass panel being on permanent display at the Little White House Museum in Key West, Florida.
